Degree Honoris Causa

Professor Jerzy Merkisz received a degree honoris causa from the Kazimierz Pulaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom.

The ceremony was held on 17 June 2014 in the Main Hall of the University and was attended by many well-known and esteemed guests. Among them were the MPs and Senators, representatives of the province and the city. The ceremony was also attended by Chancellors and Vice-Chancellors of many technical universities from Poland. There were also deans, directors of institutes, heads of departments and representatives of universities.

Laudation at the ceremony gave Promoter - Professor Sławomir Luft D.Sc., Eng. from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UTH Radom, introducing silhouette and great scientific achievements of Professor Merkisz. In his speech he highlighted a number of Professor Merkisz achievements and his commitment to work and participate in a number of boards, committees.

Diploma in Latin read Vice-Chancellor of UTH Radom – Professor Sławomir Bukowski D.Sc., Eng. After that, UTH Radom Chancellor – Professor Zbigniew Łukasik D.Sc., Eng., gave degree honoris causa to Professor Jerzy Merkisz. In proof of this he gave him a diploma stamped by University. Then decorated Honorary Doctor symbolic epitogium.

Professor Jerzy Merkisz gave an occasional lecture: "Exhaust Emission in Transport in Real Conditions”. The whole ceremony was honored by the Choir of University of Technology and Humanities in Radom.
