Professor Jarosław Kałużny has worked at Poznan University of Technology since 2003. Previously he has got practical experience, working for polish division of MAN Bus factory and later in R&D department of Volkswagen AG, Wolfsburg, Germany.
In 2004 he presented his doctoral thesis in the field of piston-shaft assembly dynamics, friction and lubrication, oil film parameters measurements and numerical simulation. After that he extended his scientifical activity in the area of air-fuel mixture formation and combustion process research. Since 2008 Jarosław Kałużny conducts extensive studies about application of nanomaterials and nanotechnology in combustion engines design. In 2013 he presented original research results of  carbon nanotubes applied in design of diesel exhaust oxidizing catalytic converter as well as on the engine piston bearing surface.
Professor Kałużny lectures for PUT students and german speaking students groups from Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences (Wolfsburg, Germany). Subject of his lectures include: design of combustion engines, piston-shaft assembly dynamics, bearings and lubrication, advanced physical methods in combustion engines research.
Professor Kałużny  participated in numerous research projects including POWERFUL: Powertrain for Future Light-duty Vehicles (7th. Framework Programme, EU). He performed projects in cooperation with industrial companies like Volkswagen AG, Wolfsburg, Germany and NanoLab, Inc. Waltham, USA. Professor Kałużny is an author of practical industrial case-study, i.a „Dynamics Analysis of Crankshaft Deutz V12 M540 Engine”, performed for an Shipowner in 2014.
Professor Kałużny is a member of the Polish Scientific Society of Combustion Engines.
